本研究室系国际法研究所内主要从事国际公法研究与教学的专业机构。2002年10月，随着国际法研究所的建立，由中国社会科学院法学研究所原国际法研究室主要从事国际公法研究的人员组成。现有研究人员9人，其中研究员5人、副研究员3人、助理研究员1人。所有研究人员均有在国外研究机构或大学学习、进修或工作的经历。本研究室设有法学博士点1个（国际法学专业国际公法学方向），硕士点1个（国际法学专业国际公法学方向），并能招收博士后研究人员，接受国内外的访问学者。
本研究室拥有精干的科研队伍和雄厚的科研力量，在国际海洋法、国际人道法和国际人权法等领域中的研究居于国内领先地位。本研究室与国内外国际法学界保持着广泛而紧密的学术联系。欢迎国内外国际公法学界的同仁与本研究室开展多种形式的学术交流与合作，同时竭诚欢迎有志从事国际公法学研究的人才加盟。

The Department of Public International Law is a research body focusing on the study and education of public international law within the Center for International Law Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The Department was established in October 2002 when the Center for International Law Studies was founded, consisting of those research fellows who are specialized in the studies of public international law. The Department now has 5 Research Fellows (equivelent to full professor) and 4 Associate Research Fellows (equivelent to associate professor). All staff have experiences of sudying, researching or lecturing in other countries. The Department can award Ph.D. and LL.M. in international law with focus on public international law, accept post-doctoral researchers and visiting scholars from both China and abroad.
The Department has a highly capable research staff that play a leading role in the research of such fields as the law of the sea, international humanitarian law and international human rights law in China. The Department has kept close and extensive communications and cooperations with other institutions of international law in China and abroad. The Department of Public International Law sincerely wishs to communicate and cooperate in various forms with colleagues in the field of international law, and also welcomes those who are committed to the study of international law to join us.
