Professor Li Lin and Professor Zhou Hanhua Give Lectures at the First Open Class on Cyberspace Law in China

The First Open Class on Cyberspace Law in China, sponsored by Cyberspace and Information Law Research Committee of China Law Society and jointly organized by Tencent Research Institute and the Law School of Tongji University, was held in Tongji University in Shanghai on October 26, 2018.

The open class, which took “new rules in a new era” as its theme, was aimed at publicizing and implementing in a deep-going way the important thoughts of Party-secretary Xi Jinping on the national cyber development strategy and on the construction ofcyberspace rule of law, widely disseminating the ideas and achievements of cyberspace rule of law through creative use of new media and enabling more young students of law and the general public to better understand the process of construction of cyberspace rule of law, to acquire more comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge about the theory of cyber and information law and the trend of development in cyber and information industry.

The lectures in the first class were given by seven prominent scholars and experts from government regulatory bodies, the academic circle and the Internet industry, including Professor Li Lin, the former director of CASS Law Institute and current presidentof Cyberspace and Information Law Research Committee of China Law Society, and Professor Zhou Hanhua, Assistant Director of CASS Law Institute and Vice President and Secretary General of Cyberspace and Information Law Research Committee of China Law Society. The lectures were attended by over 600 students from Tongji University.
