On December 31, 2017, Mr. Yang Yanchao, an associate research fellow of CASS Law Institute, was interviewed by the CCTV Program “Hotline 12” on the impact of “Internet courts” and artificial intelligence on the administration of justice in China. In the interview, Mr. Yang pointed out that the development of Internet courts is of great significance to the comprehensive advancement of ruling the country by law in the country as it reduces the cost of administration of justice and enable more people to have access to fair legal services. With the development of artificial intelligence and big data, judicial trial will become more fair and just. In a word, the emergence of “Internet courts” is the result of deep application of Internet technology in judicial practice as well as a major institutional innovation that enables the judicial system to consciously adapt itself to the general trend of development of the Internet.
