The Seminar on Hot Issues of International Law (No.2, 2019): Exterritorial Application of Domestic Law was held in Beijing on April 10, 2019. The seminar was sponsored by CASS Institute of International Law and attended by over 70 experts and scholars from the Supreme People’s Court, the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, the Ministry of Justice, the Foreign Ministry, University of International Business and Economics, Central University of Finance and Economics, Beijing Normal University, Yinke Law Firm, CASS Law Institute and CASS Institute of International Law. At the opening ceremony, presided over by Professor Mo Jihong, Director of CASS Institute of International Law, Mr. Luo Dongchuan, the President of the Supreme People’s Court, and Professor Chen Guoping, the Secretary of Joint Party Committee of CASS Law Institute and CASS Institute of International Law, each gave a speech in which they pointed out the great significance of constructing a leal system of exterritorial application of domestic law and the theoretical and practical imporatnce of the seminar. At the seminar, which was divided into two units, the participants gave speeches and carried out discussions around such topics as the basic theory of exterritorial application of domestic law, the exterritorial application of branch laws, and overseas legal service.
