Professor Liao Fan Attends the Academic Seminar on the “Regulation of Fintech in Asia” in Japan

At the invitation of the Law School of Kyushu University, Professor Liao Fan, a research fellow at CASS Institute of Law, attended the seminar “Regulation of Fintech in Asia: Global Context and Local Perspective” in Japan on 2-4, December 2018. The seminar was one of a series of activities under the research project on fintech regulation led by Professor Steven Van Uystel at the Law School of Kyushu University. It was divided into three units and attended by over 20 scholars and experts from CASS, Kyushu University, Seoul National University, Singapore Management University, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Thammasat University (Thailand), and Hanoi University of law (Vietnam), as well as by lawyers from a number of famous law firms in Japan. Professor Liao Fan gave a keynote speech entitled “Does China Need a Regulatory Sandbox? The Theoretical Basis and Practice of Regulatory Sandbox” and exchanged views on the relevant issues with other experts and scholars in the first unit of the seminar.
