To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the implementation of the policy of reform and opening up to the outside world, give full play to the role of the Think Tank on State Government, and promote the construction of CASS think tanks, the CASS Think Tank on State Governance has decided to hold its 2018 annual conference later this month.

The theme of the conference is “Forty Years of Reform and Opening up to the Outside World and the Role Played by Think Tanks in the Modernization of State Governance”. The followings topics will be discussed at the conference:

(1)Modernization of state governance and political development in contemporary China;

(2)modernization of state governance and social governance;

(3)the rule of law and the modernization of state governance;

(4)construction of the state news communication system in China since the reform and opening to the outside world;

(5)ethnic and religious issues from the perspective of state governance and their solutions;

(6)modernization of state governance in a new era: problems, challenges and countermeasures.

The conference, organized by CASS Law Institute and CASS Institute of International Law, will be held in Jianguo Hotel in Beijing on September 19, 2018 from 9 am to 5:pm. All papers should be submitted through email to the organizers before September 10.
