Professor Zhi Zhenfeng and Professor Zhou Hui Attends the Seminar on the Development of Digital Economy and Protection of Personal Information

The Seminar on the Development of Digital Economy and Protection of Personal Information and the launching ceremony of the Center for Digital Economy and Rule of Law Studies of Central University of Finance and Economics were held in Beijing on June 30, 2018. The event was attended by over 80 representatives from universities, research institutions, government organs, judicial organs, industries, and mass media, including Peking University, Renmin University of China, CASS, Central Party School, China University of Political Science and Law, Beijing Normal University, University of International Business and Economics, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Cyberspace Administration of China, the Ministry of Justice, the Supreme People’s Court, the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, the Higher People’s Court of Beijing Municipality, the Fourth Intermediate People’s Court, Beijing IP Court, the People’s Court of Haidian District, Baidu, Alibaba, Tencent, JD.com, Ant Financial, Didi Chuxing Technology Co., Meituan.com, Sina.com, China Social Sciences, People’s Daily, and Caijing Magazine. The seminar was divided into four units in which the participants gave keynote speeches and carried out discussions on various issues around the following four topics: the nature and ownership of the right to data; protection of personal information and public use of data; protection of personal information and commercial use of data; impact of GDPR on the digital economy in China and countermeasures.

Two representatives from CASS Law Institute, Professor Zhi Zhenfeng, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Global Law Review, and Professor Zhou Hui, Deputy Secretary-General of China Society of Cyberspace and Information Law, attended the seminar. Professor Zhi Zhenfeng presided over the keynote speeches and Professor Zhou Hui presided over the discussion at the first unit of the seminar.
