The Third “Social Sciences Cup” Forum of the Law Faculty of CASS Graduate School Held at CASS Law Institute

On the morning of May 5, 2018, the Third “Social Sciences Cup” Forum of the Law Faculty of CASS Graduate School was held in the conference room of CASS Law Institute. The forum, sponsored by CASS Law Institute and jointly organized by the Law Faculty of CASS Graduate School and Beijing Mugong Law Firm, was one of a series of activities held in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of CASS Law Institute. It took “the National Cyber Development Strategy and Institutional Innovation” as its theme and was attended by over 40 teachers and students of the Law Faculty of CASS Graduate School.

 

The opening ceremony was presidedby Professor Xi Yumin, Dean of the Law Faculty and Head of the Economic Law Department of CASS Law Institute. At the ceremony, Professor Xi gave a brief introduction to the significance, the organization and arrangements for the awarding of prizes. In his speech, Professor Mo Jihong, Deputy Director of CASS Law Institute urged the students to carefully study legal issues relating to cyber-economy and pay special attention to the research at the macro-level and to the application of research results.He hoped that the exchange at the forum would enhance their research capability. After the opening ceremony the winners of prizes of the forum were announced andcertificates ofprize were awarded to them by the leaders of the Law Faculty and the CASS Law Institute.

 

The Forum was divided into two sessions, in which a total of 12 graduate students presented their papers on various legal issues relating to the topics of “Legal Regulation of and Institutional Innovation in Different Internet+ Industries” and “Protection of Personal Information and Individual Rights under the National Cyber Development Strategy”. At the end of each session, teachers of the Law Faculty gave a summarization of the session and made comments on each of the presentations and put forward suggestions on their improvement.
