On January 10, 2018, the Counsellor of the Belarusian Embassy in China visited CASS Law Institute and held a meeting with Professor Chen Su, Director of the Institute, on the cooperation between China and Belarus on the exchange of legal information.

In the meeting, Professor Chen extended warm welcome to the counsellor and gave him an introduction to the status and functions of the Institute, its role in the construction of the rule of law in China, and its position in the academic circle. He pointed out that Belarus is a very important link in China’s “Belt and Road” Initiatives and that CASS Law Institute attaches great importance to the academic cooperation with relevant institutions in Belarus.

The Counsellor thanked the CASS Law Institute and Director Chen for the importance they attached to the legal exchange and cooperation between China and Belarus, pointing out that, in recent years China, and Belarus have had a vey good relationship and carried out comprehensive strategic cooperation, and there is a big potential for the concrete cooperation between China and Belarus in the cooperation in the field of information sharing. Director Chen pointed out that the sharing of legal information between China and Belarus is of great importance to the development of the friendly relationship between the two countries and that CASS Law Institute is willing to play a positive role in this cooperation. The host and guest exchange views on the concrete method of cooperation. Also attending the meeting were Professor Xie Zengyi, Head of Research Coordiantion and Foreign Cooperation Departmetn of the Institute, and Professor Liu Hongyan, Head of Ecological Law Department of the Institute.
