Professor Li Lin Gives Lecture on “the Beginning of a New Journey towards the Socialist Rule of Law with Chinese Characteristics in a New Era” at CASS Law Institute

On the morning of December 19, 2017, Professor Li Lin, Vice Chairman of China Law Society and a research fellow of CASS Law Institute, gave a lecture entitled “The Beginning of a New Journey towards the Socialist Rule of Law with Chinese Characteristics in a New Era: What I Have Gained from Studying the Report to the Nineteenth National Congress of the CPC” at the conference room of CASS Law Institute. The lecture was presided over by Professor Chen Su, Director of CASS Law Institute, and attended by all the staff members of CASS Institute of Law and CASS Institute of International Law.

Before the lecture, Professor Chen spoke highly of Professor Li’s contributions to the legal research in CASS Law Institute as the former director of the Institute. Professor Li expressed his sincere thanks to all staff members of the two institutes for their support to his work while he was the director of the Law Institute.

In the lecture, Professor Li pointed out that the Nineteenth Party Congress was a very important meeting held at the crucial time when China had entered into the decisive stage of building a moderately well-off society in an all-round way and constructing socialism with Chinese characteristics. He gave a detailed explanation of the spirit of the Nineteenth Party Congress from the following three perspectives: major theoretical innovations; new propositions and new conclusions on and new tasks of ruling the country by law in an all-round way; and the beginning of a new journey towards socialist rule of law with Chinese characteristics.

After the lecture, Professor Chen called on all staff members of the two institutes to learn from Professor Li’s in-depth, meticulous and systematic research method and researchers of the two institutes said that they had gained a lot from the lecture.
