The Seminar on “Innovating and Regulating the Development of Internet Financing: International Experience and Chinese Approach” and Annual Academic Conference of the Research Committee on International Financial Law of Chinese Society of International Economic Law were successfully held in Beijing on November 5, 2017. The event was jointly organized by CASS Institute of International Law and the Research Committee on International Financial Law of Chinese Society of International Economic Law and attended by over 40 experts and scholars from CASS, China Executive Leadership Academy of Pudong, Peking University, Wuhan University, University of International Business and Economics, Central University of Finance and Economics, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, East China University of Political Science and Law, Xiamen University, Shandong University, Liaoning University, People’s Bank of China, and National Internet Finance Association of China. The seminar was divided into four units, in which the participants gave presentations and carried out discussions on such issues as “financial regulation against the background of financial innovation”, “Regtech from the perspective financial regulation”, “institutional obstacles to the application of technology of financial regulation”, “regulation of P2P lending under the Securities Law”, “orderly construction of P2P lending platforms”, “innovative regulation of internet financing”, “legal attributes of bitcoins”, “regulation of ICO”, “restrictions on the cross-border transmission of financial information”, “historical development and regulation of financial technology in China”, “challenges posed by internet financing to the regulation of private equity”, “regulation of internet financing as a supply of public product”, “promoting the rational development of internet financing through industrial self-regulation”, “the function of Financial Stability Board”, “the Laws of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and global economic governance”, “and “the logic of regulation of internet financing”.
