The Seminar “Implementing the Spirit of the Nineteenth Party Congress and Promoting the Development of International Law Science in China” Held in Beijing

On November 4, 2017, the Seminar “Implementing the Spirit of the Nineteenth Party Congress and Promoting the Development of International Law Science in China”, organized by the Editorial Board of the journal Chinese Review of International Law, was successfully held in Beijing. The seminar was attended by over 40 persons, including government officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Defense Ministry, and the Ministry of Environmental Protection, scholars from the University International Relations, Xiamen University, Peking University, China Foreign Affairs University, China University of Political Science and Law, Beijing Institute of Technology, Dalian Maritime University, Ningxia University, and Wuhan University, as well as editors-in-chief, deputy editors-in-chief and editors of various law journals and publishing houses, such as Chinese Yearbook of International Law, Chinese Journal of Law, Journal of Comparative Law, Tribune of Political Science and Law, Journal of Boundary and Ocean Studies, Wuhan University International Law Review, The South China Sea Law Journal, Pacific Journal, PKU International Law and Comparative Law Review, and China Democracy and Law Press. The seminar was divided into four units, in which the participants gave speeches and carried out discussions on various issues around the following topics: “studying the spirit of the Nineteenth Party Congress and promoting the development of international law science in China”, “combining Chinese theory of international law with practice”, “publishing periodicals and collection of papers in the field of international”, and “conclusions and prospects”.
