Deputy Director Mo Jihong of CASS Law Institute Met Director of Waseda University Institute of Comparative Law

On the morning of September 22, 2017, Professor Mo Jihong, Deputy Director of CASS Law Institute, met Professor Tamio Nakamura, Director of Waseda University Institute of Comparative Law at the CASS Law Institute. During the meeting, Professor Mo reviewed the long history of cooperation between the two institutes. He said that the cooperation between CASS Law Institute and Waseda University Institute of Comparative Law began in 1993. Since then, the two institutes have strengthened the academic exchange and enhanced the mutual understanding between Chinese and Japanese scholars in the field of comparative law by jointly sponsoring academic seminars. Now the two institutes have made arrangements for the translation and publication of the articles submitted to the previous joint seminar. This is very good direction of development of the cooperation between the two institutes. Professor Nakamura spoke highly of the past cooperation between the two institutes. He noted that the next year would be the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Waseda University Institute of Comparative Law and the Institute would hold a series of activities to celebrate the event. He hoped that CASS Law Institute would be able to send a delegation to participate these activities. Professor Mo said that the next year would also be the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the CASS Law Institute and he hoped that Waseda University Institute of Comparative Law would also send delegation to participate in the activities in celebration of the event. Professor Mo and Professor Nakamura also exchanged views on the theme and the time of the next year’s Sino-Japanese seminar on comparative law. Professor Xie Zengyi, Head of the Research Coordination and Foreign Cooperation Department of CASS Law Institute, also attended the meeting.
