A Delegation from CASS Law Institute Visits Denmark

On August 31-September 1, 2017, a six-member delegation from CASS Law Institute, led by Director Li Lin, visited Denmark and carried out academic exchanges with Danish scholars. Other members of the delegation were Professor Li Zhong, Professor Xie Zengyi, Professor Li Honglei, Associate Professor Jin Shanmin and Associate Professor Wang Xiaomei On August 31, the delegation visited Copenhagen University and attended an academic seminar at the Law School of the University. Before the seminar, the Dean of the Law school, Professor Jacob Graff Nielsen, extended warm welcome to the members of the delegation and gave them a detailed introduction to the courses offered and research projects carried out at the Law School and accompanied them on a tour of the teaching and research facilities of the Law School. The Chinese and Danish scholars gave speeches and carried out discussions on such topics as “the legal thinking on the principle of self-determination in Denmark and Spain”, “solidarity and legitimacy in the 21st Century: evolution of legal culture from the Chinese and European perspectives”, “Think China, a joint research project of Copenhagen University and Copenhagen Business School: Chinese laws and policies”, “the role played by China in international economic disputes”, and “mixed procedures of Chinese and EU arbitration practice”. During the visit in Copenhagen University, Professor Li Lin had reached an initial agreement with Professor Jacob Graff Nielsen on the cooperation and exchange between the CASS Law Institute and the Law School of Copenhagen University. To better understand the judicial and parliamentary systems in Denmark, the delegation also visited the Supreme Court of Denmark and the Danish Parliament during the visit in Copenhagen.
