The Second High-end Forum on Intellectual Property Law Successfully Held in Yantai

On May 27, 2017, the Second High-end Forum on Intellectual Property Law, sponsored by China Society of Intellectual Property Law and jointly organized by CASS Center for Intellectual Property Law Studies and the Law School of Yantai University, was successfully held in Yantai City, Shandong Province. The Forum, which took “Adjustment and Construction of Intellectual Property Law System in China against the Background of Globalization” as its theme, was attended by over 40 scholars and experts from 20 universities and research institutions as well as a number of judges from the Intermediate People’s Court of Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province and the Intermediate People’s Court of Yantai City, Shandong Province. The forum was divided into two main forums and four sub-forums. At the two main forum, the participants gave speeches and carried out discussions on various issues around “the relationship between the Civil Code and Intellectual Property Law” and “protection of intellectual property in cyberspace.” The speeches and discussions at the four sub-forums were carried out around the following topics: patent law, trademark law, anti-unfair competition law, theory of copyright law, and globalization and international protection of intellectual property. Also at the forum, a ceremony was held for the signing of an agreement between China Society of Intellectual Property Law, CASS Center for Intellectual Property Law Studies and Yantai University on the establishment the Research Center on Intellectual property Policies.
