Director Li Lin of CASS Law Institute Meets the Former Dean of the Law School of Oslo University

On the afternoon of April 27, 2017, a delegation of the Law School of Oslo University in Norway visited CASS Law Institute and held a meeting with Professor Li Lin, Director of the Institute. The delegation was headed by Professor Hans Petter Graver, a former dean of the Law School of Oslo University. Other members of the delegation included Ms. Hilde Salvesen, Director of International Department of Norwegian Centre for Human Rights, and Ms. Cecilie Figenschou Bakke, Director of the China Program of the Center. Also attending the meeting were Professor Liu Huawen, Assistant Director of CASS Institute of International Law, Professor Sun Shiyan, a research fellow at CASS Institute of International Law, Professor Xu Hui, a research fellow at CASS Law Institute, Professor Xie Zengyi, Head of the Department of Research Coordination and International Cooperation of CASS Law Institute, and Ms. Nie Xiushi, a programs officer at CASS Law Institute. In the meeting, Director Li Lin extended warm welcome to the members of the delegation. He pointed out that CASS Law Institute and Oslo University, especially its Human Rights Center, had a long history of academic exchange and cooperation. He hoped that the two institutions could begin a new round of friendly cooperation and put forward some proposals on possible subjects and forms of cooperation in the fields of the rule of law and human rights. Professor Graver gave positive responses to Director Li’s proposals. He said that he was satisfied with the results of the past cooperation between the two institutions and looked forward to the further cooperation in the future. Finally, at the request of Norwegian gusts, Professor Liu Huawen gave a brief introduction to the CASS Center for Human Rights Studies and the achievements made by China in recent years in the field of human rights.
