On March 28, 2017, the First Innovation Forum of CASS Law Institute and CASS Institute of International Law in 2017 was successfully held at the conference room of the two institutes. At the Forum, Professor Wang Minyuan, chief researcher of the Innovation Project “Studies on Issues relating to Judicial Reform and the Rule of Procedure Law”, gave a lecture entitled “Studies on issues relating to the procedure for the disposition of properties involved in criminal cases”. The lecture was presided over by Professor Liu Renwen, Head of the Criminal Law Department of CASS Law Institute, and attended by over 40 experts, scholars and graduate students from the two institutes. In the lecture, Professor Wang analyzed the two main problems in the procedure for the disposition of properties involved in criminal proceedings, namely unlawful measures against and improper disposition of sealed up, seized and frozen properties involved in criminal cases and the damages caused thereof and put forward a series of proposals on improving the relevant systems and better protecting citizens’ property right in criminal proceedings.
