On February 14, 2017, the Deputy Head of the ICRC Regional Delegation for East Asia, Mr. Vincent Ochilet, visited CASS Law Institute and CASS Institute of International Law and held a meeting with Professor Chen Zexian, Director of CASS Institute of International Law. At the meeting, Director Chen gave the guest an introduction of the basic functions of the CASS Law Institute and CASS Institute of International Law and the researches carried out by the two institutes in the field of international humanitarian law. Mr. Ochilet introduced Director Chen to the main functions and work of ICRC Regional Delegation for East Asia and stressed the importance of China’s support and participation to the development of the international humanitarian undertakings and the work of ICRC. The guest and the host also discussed the further strengthening the cooperation between the two CASS institutes and the ICRC in the field of international humanitarian law, including jointly organizing a seminar on international humanitarian law at an appropriate in the first half of 2017. Also attending the meeting were Ms. Zhou Wen and Mr. Zhou Bin, two officials of the ICRC Regional Delegation for East Asia, Mr. Sun Shiyan, Head of the Public International Law Department of CASS Institute of International Law, Mr. Liao Fan, Deputy Head of the Department of Research Administration and Foreign Affairs of CASS Institute of International Law, and Mr. Zhao Xin and Ms. Fan Jing, two post-doctoral researchers at CASS Institute of International Law.
