The Seminar on the Reform of the State Supervision System Held in Beijing

On January 14, 2017, the Seminar on the Reform of the State Supervision System, organized by CASS law Institute, was successfully held in Beijing. The seminar, aimed at implementing the spirits of the Sixth Plenary Session of the Eighteenth CPC Congress and the relevant meetings of the NPC Standing Committee and better promoting the reform of the state supervision system in China, was attended by over a dozen scholars and experts from various colleges, universities and research institutions, including CASS, Peking University, Wuhan University, China University of Political Science and Law, and Chinese Academy of Governance. At the seminar, the experts agreed that the reform of state supervision system, as a major political reform that involves the Constitution, the lasted major achievement made by China in the comprehensive advancement of the rule of law, and an embodiment of the organic unity of ruling the country by law and governing the Party by regulations, is of great significance. They had carried out in-depth discussions on the top-level design of the reform, its coordination with judicial reform, and its linkage with the anti-corruption system and put forward constructive proposals on the nature, functions, targets and procedures of the National Supervision Commission and other issues of institutional construction.
