On September 13, 2018, Professor Mo Jihong, Associate Director of CASS Law Institute, gave a lecture on constitutional review at the Law School of Southeast University in Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province. The lecture, entitled “How Can Constitutional Review Be free from the Interference of Legality Review”, was presided over by Professor Liu Qichuan of the Law School, and attended by Professor Li Zhong from CASS Law Institute, Professor Liu Xiaomei from CASS Institute of International Law, as well as by the teachers, Ph.D. candidates, and graduate and undergraduate students of the Law School. In the lecture, Professor Mo analyzed the current dilemma faced by China about the relationship between legality and constitutionality, compared the relevant theories and practices in China and some foreign countries, and put forward suggestions on the construction of the constitutional review system in China. After the lecture, Professor Li Zhong and Professor Liu Xiaomei made comments on Professor Mo’s lecture and Professor Mo answered questions from the audience.
