Professor Chen Su Meets Vice President of University of Warsaw

On May 3, 2018, a delegation of University of Warsaw, Poland, headed by Professor Maciej Duszczyk, the vice president of, the university, visited CASS Law Institute, and held a meeting with Professor Chen Su, Director of the Institute.

At the meeting, Professor Chen Su extended warm welcome to Professor Duszczyk and his delegation and gave them an introduction to the status and functions of CASS Law Institute, its role in the construction of the rule of law in China and its influence in the academic circle. He pointed out that CASS Law Institute attaches great importance to the cooperation with the University of Warsaw, which is one of the five platforms of foreign exchange of the Institute. The Sino-Polish Seminar on Comparative Law, as an important platform of exchange and cooperation between the two countries, has expanded the cooperation between CASS Law Institute and academic institutions in Central and Eastern Europe, and plays a very important role in the exchange of experiences in legal study and the rule of law between China and Central and Eastern Europe.

Professor Duszczyk thanked Professor Chen and CASS Law Institute for the warm reception and pointed out that the cooperation between Warsaw University and CASS Law Institute had a long history. His university attaches high importance to this bilateral cooperation, which had already produced fruitful results, and is full of confidence in his future development.

Professor Chen expressed the hope that the two parties would make full use of this platform to carry out effective cooperation in various forms. He suggested that the two parties take CASS Law Institute, Warsaw University and the Polish Center for the Study of Chinese Law and Economy as the main coordinating organs to expand the scope and improve the quality of the cooperation, so as to promote the legal exchange between China and Central and Eastern Europe. The two parties had also carried out negotiation and reached broad consensus on the concrete activities of cooperation to be carried out in the year 2018-2019.

Other members of the Polish delegation were Dr. Piotr Grzebyk, Director of the Polish Center for the Study of Chinese Law and Economy, and Dr. Joanna Grzybek, a research fellow of the Center. The meeting was also attended by Professor Mo Jihong, Deputy Director of CASS Law Institute, and Professor Xie Zengyi, Head of the Research Coordination and International Cooperation Department of CASS Law Institute.
