Mo Jihong: Great Achievements Made by China in the Construction of the Rule of Law since the Eighteenth Party Congress

In the past five years since the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Chinese government, under the correct leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as its core, has implemented the state policy of ruling the country by law in all fields of state and social governance, carried out continuous practice and exploration in the fields of legislation, law enforcement, administration of justice and observance of law, and made a series of important historical achievements in this process. These achievements can be summarized as the followings: firstly, primary results have been achieved in regulating the Party in accordance with Party regulations; secondly, the policy of ruling the country in accordance with the Constitution has been further implemented; thirdly, the idea of scientific legislation has been adhered to; fourthly, efforts have been made to construct a law-based government; fifthly, solid progress has been made in judicial reform; sixthly, the work of popularization of law among the entire population has been carried out in a steadfast way; seventhly, very good results have been achieved in the construction of local rule of law; and eighthly, a law-based society and the rule of law culture are beginning to take shape in the country.
