On July 11-21, 2017, a research team of the Department of Strategic Research on the Rule of Law of CASS Law Institute and CASS Institute of International Law carried out field investigations on the integration of socialist core values into the construction of the rule of law and the local legislative work in four provinces (Hubei, Guangdong, Shandong and Zhejiang) and nine cities (Wuhan, Guangzhou, Zhuhai, Shenzhen, Jinan, Qingdao, Hangzhou, Yiwu and Ningbo). The research team was led by Professor Li Zhong, Head of the Department, and consisted of the following members: Professor Xiong Qiuhong, Professor Chen Genfa, Professor Liu Xiaomei, Professor Ma Longping, Professor Ye Yuantao, Dr. Zhao Xin, Dr. Wang Jiang and Dr. Shifang. In the investigation, the research team focused its attention mainly on the situation of integration of socialist core values into the work of adoption and implementation of local regulations and intra-Party regulations and the main problems in this process and listened to the opinions and suggestions of local government officials on the improvement of relevant local regulations and intra-Party regulations. Through the investigation, the research team had got a better understanding of the explorations, innovations and achievements made by local governments in integrating socialist core values into local regulations and intra-Party regulations, thereby laying a solid foundation for its research work in this field.
