BEIJING, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- Li Liguo, former minister of civil affairs and Dou Yupei, former vice minister of civil affairs, are under investigation, the discipline arm of the Communist Party of China (CPC) said Monday.

Luo Dongchuan, a senior official with the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), said based on inspection results and information from the public, the agency suspects the two former officials of negligence.

They will face punishments in accordance with their violations once the facts and details of their cases are made clear, Luo told a press conference, adding that additional information will be published when the cases are closed.
