Professor Li Xixia Awarded a Third Prize for Excellent Research Results by Wang Jinling Gender Research Award Fund

Recently the book “Protection of Women’s Social Rights: from International and Domestic Law Perspectives”, co-edited by Professor Li Xixia, a research fellow at CASS Institute of International, and Professor Lidija R. Basta Fleiner from Institute of Federalism, University of Fribourg, Switzerland, was awarded a Third Prize for Excellent Research Results by Wang Jinling Gender Research Award Fund. The book is a part of book series China Forum on the Rule of Law and was published by Social Sciences Academic Press in 2013. Its reviews from the of international and domestic law perspectives different theories and opinions on the legal protection of women’s social rights and the relevant provisions in international, regional and national human rights laws, analyzes the latest development in the fields of women’s reproductive right, labor protection, right to work, right to health, and prohibition of domestic violence, and compares the situations of protection of women’s human rights in the Netherlands, UK, Switzerland, Germany, France, and Australia. The articles contained in this book reflect the continuation and deepening of the long-term researches on issues relating to human rights, the rule of law and protection of women’s rights and, as such, are of important theoretical value and practical significance to the further improvement of legal mechanisms for safeguarding women’s social rights. The English edition of the book has been published by Paths International Ltd. (UK) in 2016.
