A Delegation of CASS Institute Attends Roundtable of International Association of Constitutional Law

On December 5-9, 2016, a six-member delegation of CASS Law Institute and Chinese Society of Constitutional Law, led by Professor Mo Jihong, Deputy Director of CASS Law Institute and Vice Chairman of the International Association of Constitutional Law (IACL), attended a roundtable of the IACL in Venice, Italy. The roundtable was jointly organized by IACL, European Commission for Democracy through Law (the Venice Commission), and International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA), with the support form the Italian Foreign Ministry. Taking “Global Constitutional Discourse and Trans-national Constitutional Action” as its theme, the roundtable was divided into three units, in which the participants gave speeches and carried out discussions around three main topics of “the significance of comparative debate in the work of Venice Commission”, “external assistance in constitutional design”, and “the process and the role of the drafting of international norms and practices”. Other members of the Chinese delegation included Professor Zhou Hanhua, Professor Zhang Sheng, Professor Li Honglei, Professor Zhai Guoqiang and Professor Yao Jia.
