The Second National Congress of China Criminal Law Society and the 2016 Annual Academic Conference on Criminal Law were held in wuhan City, Hubei Province on October 15-16, 2016. At the Congress, a new Council of the Society was elected. Professor Chen Zexian, Director of CASS Institute of International Law, was reelected the Executive Vice Chairman of the Council; Professor Liu Renwen, Head of the Criminal Law Department of CASS law Institute, was elected an executive member of the Council; Professor Deng Zibin, the Head Librarian of CASS Law Library, and Professor Fan Wen, Director of International Criminal Law Research Center of CASS Institute of International Law, were elected members of the Council. At the Academic Conference, Professor Chen Zexian gave a speech entitled “fighting terrorism under the rule of law”; Professor Liu Renwen gave a speech on “the relationship between the determination of administrative responsibility for traffic accident and the determination of criminal responsibility for traffic accident”, and served as a commentator at the third unit of the conference; Professor Chen Zexian presided over the first meeting of the second Executive Council of the National Congress of China Law Society and the closing ceremony of the Annual Academic Conference on Criminal Law, and attended the expert panel on criminal law legislation organized by the Legislative Affairs Commission of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress during the conference.
