Annual Conference of China Institute of Legal History (2016) Held in Tianjin

On September 24, 2016, the Annual Conference of China Institute of Legal History and the Seminar on the Transition of Legal System and Political Civilization were held in Tianjin City. The event was jointly organized by the Law School of Tianjin University of Finance and Economics and the Law School of Tsinghua University and attended by more than 180 scholars from all over the country. At the opening ceremony, Professor Wu Yuzhang, the President of China Institute of Legal History and a research follow at CASS law Institute, summarized the work of the Institute during the past year in a speech given on behalf of China Institute of Legal History. Professor Gao Hancheng, the Secretary-general of the Institute a research follow at CASS law Institute, announced the winners of the Liao Kaiyuan Award for Excellent Academic Achievement, given by China Institute of Legal History. At the seminar, the participants gave keynote speeches and carried out discussions on such topics as “the transition of political system in China from monarchical centralism to constitutional centralism”, “Administration of Justice in China: from the 19th century western perspective”, “Japan’s legal colonization of China”, and “the important of confirmation of Emperor Huang as the source of the Chinese culture”.
