Professor Liu Huawen Interprets the New White Paper on Human Rights in China in an Interview by China National Radio

On September 12, 2016, the State Council issued the white paper New Progresses in the Judicial Protection of Human Rights in China. Recently, Professor Liu Huawen, Assistant Director of CASS Institute of International Law and Executive Director of CASS Center for Human Rights Studies, was interviewed by China National Radio in which he explained the achievements and progresses made by China in safeguarding human rights in the judicial field from the perspectives of anti-corruption and human rights, sunshine justice, and investigation into misjudged cases. The interview was broadcasted in the program “The Voice of China”. Meanwhile, in a feature program of CCTV entitled “Human Rights on Scales: New Progresses in the Judicial Protection of Human Rights in China”, Professor Liu stressed that the rule of law, development and human rights are the three basic dimensions of national development that are supplementary and indispensable to each other.
