Researchers of CASS Law Institute Attend the Seminar on the Current Situation and Future Development of Empirical Legal Study in China

On July 3, 2016, the Seminar on the Current Situation and Future Development of Empirical Legal Study in China was held in Chengdu. Over 60 scholars, experts, and government officials from various colleges, universities, research institutions and government organs throughout the country attended the seminar, which was divided into four units, and carried out in-depth discussions around such topics as the current situation and future development of empirical legal study in China, the methodologies and techniques of empirical legal study, and concrete application of empirical legal study. Three researchers from CASS Law Institute attended the seminar: Professor Xiong Qiuhong chaired the first unit of the seminar and served as a commentator at the third unit of the seminar; Associate Professor Ran Jingfu gave a keynote speech entitled “The Subjective and Objective Indices in the Assessment of the Rule of Law” at the second unit of the seminar; and Associate Professor Zhi Zhenfeng served as a commentator at the second unit of the seminar.
