Vice President of CASS Conducts Inspection of Work at CASS Law Institute and CASS Institute of International Law

In the afternoon of June 30, 2016, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Group of CASS and Vice President of CASS, Mr. Wang Jingqing, visited CASS Law Institute and CASS Institute of International Law to inspect and guide the work of the two institutes. During the visit, Professor Chen Su, Secretary of the joint Party committee of the two institutes, Professor Li Lin, Director of CASS Law Institute, Professor Chen Zexian, Director of CASS Institute of International Law, Ms. Mu Linxia, Deputy Director of CASS Law Institute, and the heads of various functional departments briefed Mr. Wang Jingqing on various aspects of their work. After the briefing, Mr. Wang visited some departments of the two institutes, including the Constitutional and Administrative Law Department, the Jurisprudence Department, the International Economic Law Departments, the IPR Law Department, the Department of the Investigation and Survey of the National Situation of the Rule of Law, the LLM Program Office, the Library, and the Network and Information Department, and exchanged opinions with researchers and administrative personnel of these departments. He pointed out that the office building of the two institutes was originally the Geological Department of Peking University and the birthplace of the May 4th Movement. As such, it has profound historical and cultural deposits. The CASS Law Institute and the CASS Institute of International Law have been given the important task of constructing the system of socialist rule of law. He hoped that the two institutes would adhere the strategy of strengthening the institutes through four aspects of work and build the two institutes into important national institutions of legal research in China and a basis for the research of Marxist legal theory. The leaders of the two institutes thanked Mr. Wang for his instructions and guidance on their work and indicated that staff members of the two institutes would take the objective of “three-orientations” of the CASS as the starting point of their work, grasp the opportunity of reform and innovation, work hard, and forge ahead in unity, so as to live up the expectations of the CASS leaders.
