On the morning of June 27, 2016, at the invitation of Mr. Meng Xiang, Vice President of the Higher People’s Court of Beijing Municipality, a nine-member research team of CASS Law Institute led by Professor Tian He, Director of the Center for Studies of the Rule-of-Law Indices of CASS Law Institute and a member of Expert Advisory Committee on Informatization of the Supreme People’s Court, carried out investigation on the informatization work of the Higher People’s Court of Beijing Municipality. Accompanied by Mr. Meng Xiang, the research team visited the 12368 Artificial Voice Litigation Service Platform and the digitized court, watched the demonstration of live video broadcast of court trial and facilities of integrated self-service litigation, and listened to the introduction to current situation of informatization construction in Beijing courts, given by Mr. She Guiqing, Director of IT Department of the Higher People’s Court of Beijing Municipality. Afterwards, members of the research team carried out in-depth exchange and discussion with Mr. Meng Xiang and leaders of the Information Center of the Court on such issues as the construction and maintenance of court informatization system, information sharing between courts, information linkage and the role played by informatization in the process of court services, examination and approval, and enforcement of judgments.
