Professor Liu Nanlai gives Lecture at Capital Library

On June 25, 2016, Professor Liu Nanlai, a research fellow of CASS Institute of International Law, an Honorary CASS member, and an arbitrator of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague, gave a lecture entitled “The South China Sea Issue and Its Solution from International Law Perspective” at the “Social Science Lecture Room” of Capital Library. The lecture was attended by over 50 people from all walks of life in Beijing. In the lecture, Professor Liu gave the audience an introduction to the historical background and current situation of the South China Sea disputes from the perspective of origins, international law and solution, and analyzed disputes over the territorial demarcation and the freedom of navigation in South China Sea and the South China Sea Arbitration case. After the lecture, Professor Liu exchanged views with the audience on various issues relating to South China Sea disputes and the South China Sea Arbitration case filed by the Philippines.
