The Seminar on Judicial Protection of Intellectual Property Held in Beijing

On April 22, 2016, the Seminar on Judicial Protection of Intellectual Property was successful held in Beijing in celebration of the World Intellectual Property Day. The seminar, jointly sponsored by the Political and Law Commission of the CPC Central Committee and the Institute of Applied Law Science of the Supreme People’s Court and organized by CASS Law Institute and Beijing IP Court, was attended by over 60 participants, including judges from IP courts in the three cities of Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou and scholars and experts in the field of IP law from all over the country. Mr. Tao Kaiyuan, Vice President of the Supreme People’s Court, attended the seminar and gave an important speech at the opening ceremony of the seminar. At the seminar, the participants carried out in-depth discussions around the issue of “judicial assessment of the damages of IP infringements” and exchanged opinions on the two special topics of “judicial protection of intellectual property and construction of IP court” and “traditional cultural resources of the Chinese nation and innovations on the IP protection system”.
