In the morning of March 22, 2016, a three-member delegation from the Institute of Comparative Law of Waseda University, led by Professor Yoshimi Kikuchi, Director of the Institute, visited CASS Law Institute. The other two members of the delegation were Professor Yasunobu Wakabayashi and Ms. Tingyun Zou. During the visit, members of the delegation met with Professor Li Lin, Director of CASS Law Institute. In the meeting, Professor Li reviewed the past exchange and cooperation between the two institutes and spoke highly of the results achieved in this process. He gave the Japanese gusts a brief introduction to the achievements made by China in recent years in legal reform and construction of the rule of law and to the newly adopted Thirteenth Five-Year Plan for National and Social Development in China. He pointed out that, in the construction of the rule of law, China needs to draw on the useful experiences of other countries, including Japan. He hopes that the two institutes will further strengthen the cooperation between them, so as to promote the legal exchange between the China and Japan. Professor Kikuchi pointed out that his institute attaches great importance to the cooperation with CASS Law Institute. The legal reform in China has also provided Japan with useful experiences. At the end of the meeting, the two directors signed a new cooperation agreement between the two institutes. After the meeting, Professor Kikuchi, Professor Wakabayashi and Ms. Zou each gave a lecture at CASS Law Institute on Social Security Law and Sustainable Society, Trend of Development of Corporate Governance in Japan, and the Employment Society and the Reform of the Japanese Labor Law, respectively. The lectures were presided over by Professor Mo Jihong, Deputy Director of CASS Law Institute. After the lectures, the Japanese guests exchanged views with the experts and students of the CASS Law Institute and CASS Institute of International Law on the latest developments in the field of social security law, company law, and labor law in Japan and China.
