The First Assessment Meeting for “Awards for Excellent Research Results in Chinese Legal History” Held in Beijing

In the morning of December 16, 2015, the first assessment meeting for “Awards for Excellent Research Results in Chinese Legal History”, sponsored by Chinese Society of Legal History, was successfully held at CASS Law Institute. The meeting was attended by 12 experts and scholars from various universities and research institutions throughout the country, including CASS Law Institute, Renmin University of China, China University of Political Science and Law, Nankai University, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Huadong University of Political Science and Law, Southwest University of Political Science and Law, Zhongshan University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Shenyang Normal University. Professor Li Lin, Director of CASS Law Institute, and Professor Wu Yuzhang, Chairman of Chinese Society of Legal History, each gave a speech at the meeting. In his speech, Professor Li pointed out the importance of the research on legal history and stressed that the assessment of the awards is a “project of conscience” and its results must be able to stand the test of time. Professor Wu introduced the composition of the Assessment Committee, the method of assessment, and the voting rules. After the speeches, a total of four rounds of voting were conducted, in which two winners of the special prize, two winners of the first prize, two winners the second prize, and four winners of the third prize were selected.
