On November 30, 2015, the director of and deputy director of the Law Institute of Academia Sinica of Taiwan, Professor Lin Ziyi and Professor Li Jianliang, visited CASS Law Institute and held a meeting with the director and deputy director of the Institute, Professor Li Lin and Professor Mo Jihong. During the meeting, Director Lin Lin introduced the Taiwanese gusts to the historical development and main framework of CASS Law Institute and its main functions and role in the construction of the rule of law in China. Meanwhile, Director Li also reviewed the historical relationship and the cooperation between the Law Institute of Academia Sinica of Taiwan and CASS Law Institute and he pointed out that the Library of CASS Law Institute, which is the largest specialized law library in China, has a large collection of precious ancient books and rare copies of legal materials, many of which can be traced back to the library of Academia Sinica in its early years before 1949. He expressed the hope that the two law institutes would further strengthen the exchange and cooperation between them in the future. Director Lin Ziyi gave a positive response to Director Li’s proposal, and explored with him the potential fields of cooperation between the two institutes. They agreed to sign a cooperation agreement on the basis of further consultation, so as to institutionalize and normalize the cooperation between the two institutes.
