Published under a CASS Academic Innovation Project, this collection contains 15 different kinds of leading cases in the Qing Dynasty, including leading administrative cases, leading cases of economic management, leading cases of rites and ceremonies, leading judicial cases, and representative leading local cases of various provinces. Leading cases are precious materials for the research on the legal system of Qing Dynasty, although there are different opinions in the academic circle as to the nature of such cases. The publication of this collection will help readers better understand the characteristics, the nature and the functions of leading cases in Qing Dynasty, and enable them to carry out in-depth research on the legal history of Qing Dynasty by using various kinds of laws and cases recorded in these leading cases.
