BEIJING, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- Judicial workers must not leak case information or recommend lawyers to litigants, according to a regulation issued by China on Friday to clarify practices banned among these personnel.

Judicial workers who provide tip-offs to lawyers or exploit their position for profit should be prosecuted for criminal liability, stresses the regulation, jointly released by the Supreme People's Court, the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP), the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of State Security and the Ministry of Justice.

It forbids judicial workers from accepting presents or loaned property from litigants, lawyers or other parties involved in cases.

They should receive litigants, lawyers and other parties involved in proper professional settings during working hours while handling cases.

Those who quit their posts in judical organs should not serve as litigation agents or defenders in cases handled by their former judical offices, according to the regulation.
