Professor Chen Zexian Attends the Thirteenth Sino-Korean Seminar on Criminal Law

The Thirteenth Sino-Korean Seminar on Criminal Law, jointly organized by Chinese Criminal Law Society, South Korean Society of Comparative Criminal Law, Law School of Liaoning University, and Institute of Criminal Law Science of Beijing Normal University, was held in Shenyang City on August 25-26, 2015. The seminar took “the Punishment and Prevention of the Crime of Terrorism in the Context of Globalization” as its main theme and was divided into the following four units: “the current situation of research and domestic legislation on terrorism”, “coordination between international conventions against terrorism and domestic legislation”, “anti-terrorist criminology and criminal policy” and “human rights protection and international cooperation in the fight against terrorism”. Numerous scholars, experts and government officials from the Supreme People’s Court, the Public Security Bureau of Liaoning Province, CASS, Wuhan University, Southwest University of Political Science and Law, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Jilin University, Dalian Ocean University, Northeast University of Finance, Shenyang Normal University, Shandong University of Science and Technology, China Criminal Police College, Pusan National University, Korea Maritime University, Chongju University, Kyungpook National University, Korean National Policy University, Duksung Woman's University, Dong-Eui University, and Kyungnam University attended the seminar carried out in-depth discussion on various issues around the main topic of each unit. Professor Chen Zexian, Executive Vice Chairman of the Chinese Criminal Law Society and Director of CASS Institute of International Law, chaired the discussion in the first unit of the seminar and gave a keynote speech entitled “Anti-terrorism, the Rule of Law and Human Rights: from the Perspective of International Conventions” in the second unit of the seminar.
