The library of the institute, with its 380,000 copies of books, is considered as the largest and best law library in China. The library has 38,000 copies of ancient legal books and documents, many of which are rare copies or the sole existing copies in China. There are over 60,000 copies of books in various foreign languages in the library, including but not limited to the English, French, Japanese, Russian, and German language books. In some areas, such as human rights or Japanese law, the collection of the libraries' foreign language books and materials is the newest and most complete of its kind available in China. The library is open to the public, and it provides various kinds of services to the legislative, administrative and judicial sections of the state, the legal practitioners and law school teachers and students as well.
